[Shinn gave a contented sigh as the bench provided a relief from the exhaustion that carrying a few paper bags filled to the brim with groceries caused him. It wasn't his fault that the supermarket had to be so far from his apartment.

Well, at least the park lies between those two places so at least he can spend some time admiring the nature...]

What about you, though? I thought you're supposed to be out of town.

[ Lacus was taking a walk after the children decided to go with Kira's mother back to the orphanage. She decided to stay behind and wait for Kira.

While she waited, she couldn't help but start singing --- but stopped in mid-song after noticing Shinn. ]

Shinn? Ara .... Shinn Asuka, isn't that right?

[... Well now. This is surprisingly awkward.]

I thought it was ... but I am a little surprised to see you here ...

[ He sees the groceries he had placed down and smiled. ]

A rest before returning home?

Oh, I got back this morning. My business was done last night, so I got an early flight home.

[He's returning her smile, although the awkward look on his face is still there.]

Y-yes, I tend to stop by here once in a while.

So, aside from that recent work, how's life at ORB?

It's been pretty peaceful. Which presents its own set of problems, but I'd still much rather be at peace.

[impulsives]

[Shinn nods, lord knows how long will it take for another mad man to pop up and start yet another war.]

The peace would probably last for a while, if our luck holds.

Well, we're in positions to help maintain that peace. So we should work our hardest to make sure it lasts.

[ She realizes that she was making him nervous. ]

It is important to enjoy this peace ... even for a while.

Because we are fighting to keep it ...

[He gives a nod at that.]

Don't worry, Miss Clyne, if anything, all of us will fight to prevent another war from breaking out.

I shouldn't take too much of your time. I suppose you will will be returning to ZAFT soon ...

[ She will also be returning to the PLANTs soon for another meeting. ]
